Pregnancy inspired scrapbooking. . .

I figured that I better crank these out now because once the little one arrives, my focus is going to be off of the belly and onto the sweet, precious new baby!

Graydon's new skill. . .

is not one that I'm enjoying so much.
Graydon has learned the art of climbing.

If it was just on chairs like both of these photographs, it wouldn't be a big deal. But he is climbing on the toy box and coffee table. I caught him crawling across the back rest of the couch - kind of like a cat would. And after I snapped the photo below, he stood up on the chair and tried to make his way onto the table - which he would have done had I not foiled his attempt.
No, I do not like this new skill. Not one bit.

The carnival came to town. . .

Over the course of Bella's life, we have learned a good lesson:

Do not inform her of fun upcoming plans until it's actually time to go (or you will be asked every five minutes for the next several hours if it's time to go yet).

So on this Wednesday evening, it was very fun to answer Bella's daily question of "what are we doing tonight?" with "we are going to the carnival!" The only potential glitch was the cloudy skies and forecast of possible rain. While Bella was changing in her room, Andy overheard a little prayer escape from her mouth:

"God, please let it not rain tonight. But if it does. . . I forgive you." We wasted no time upon arrival. First stop: Ferris Wheel. I have to admit, I got a little emotional when I saw Bella up so high in the air. I have no idea why.

I blame it on the pregnancy hormones.

Graydon, too, was pretty captivated by how high they went.Next ride: Carousel

We ran into some friends, so Bella had a ride buddy for the rest of the evening. The Dragon: Bella's first roller coaster!
Graydon looked on. I started to feel a little bad for Graydon, stuck in the stroller. Too little for most rides. One ride that he could do was the carousel.

So we headed back. It started out great, but our little guy got a bit nervous as the ride progressed and slowly began to grip onto Andy pretty tightly.

He had his fill of rides after at.

And was completely content to sit in the stroller for the rest of the evening.Old-fashioned cars. The huge slide called out to Bella all night. We kept putting that one off and yet she persisted. This one made me the most nervous. She just made the 42 inch height requirement. If she had worn different shoes, she may not have. The slide was so big and she looked so little as she climbed all those metal stairs with the potato sack draped over her shoulder. I had visions of her falling down the stairs or flipping forward while sliding down the long track.

Bella, on the other hand, felt nothing but adrenaline and exhiliration. Our little thrill-seeker at the bottom of the slide. . . ready to go again. Before our night ended, both kids got their first taste of cotton candy. And Bella got the answer she wanted to her prayer: no rain!

Catching up on my scrapbooking. . .

It's definitely been a while since I've put any layouts together. I'm still pretty behind and know it will only get worse once Pumpkin arrives, but I do what I can when I can. Good thing I have this blog - it will help keep the memories fresh in case I don't get around to scrapping certain events for quite some time.

On a recent trip to the grocery store. . .

Graydon was the perfect angel while he sat in the wagon, smiling and saying, "Hiiieeeee" to each person we passed. He didn't give just any smile, but his cheesy grin complete with squinted eyes and all of his top teeth on display. I absolutely need to get a photo of it at some point.

For now, here's a close-up of his sweet face.

36 Weeks

Three weeks from today. . .
. . . our little one should be here!!!

The waiting will be over!

I know that our lives are about to take a big change and that there is a lot of exhaustion in my near future, but (in the words of Bella) I am just so excited! I cannot wait to meet this little one and get an answer to the ultimate question. . . BOY or GIRL!!! We'll find out soon!

Andy played photographer this weekend and captured some nice belly shots. I'm the usual photo-taker in our family so I feel a little weird having so many photos of myself in one post. . . but I think that Andy did a great job and wanted to share.

The indoor photos were taken in our bedroom. And then we headed outside for a few more.I have become quite the heat box lately. I am literally always hot. Now I understand why so many women have told me how lucky I am to have the baby at the beginning of summer. The air conditioner will be blasting cool air, Andy will grab a fleece blanket to warm up in, and I am just sitting there.

Fanning myself.

I usually have to grab a sweater when grocery shopping because the air (especially in the frozen/refrigerator sectin) is so cold. Lately, I have found those spots to be very comfortable. . .

. . . while walking through them in a tank top.

Today it actually feels like spring (not summer). The first day in quite a while.

I am so grateful.

Cup and Saucer

She was very close to choosing the unicorn bank, but at the last moment changed her mind to the cup and saucer. Back in April, a friend and I took our girls to paint pottery. Creativity was exploding all over the place. It made me want to paint something myself. But this day was Bella's turn.

She chose purple, yellow, and red.
When she's hard at work, the tongue comes out. (I think I do the same thing). The finished product! Her name and the date are written on the bottom of both cup and saucer.

Such a fun little keepsake.

35 Weeks

This is what Memorial Day Weekend looked like for us.
Lots of time at Miss Nancy's (a friend from church) pool! We were there on Sunday and Monday.

Bella can now swim with just the floaties on her arms - though she still prefers to have an extra tube around her.

I discovered the glory of weightlessness while floating in the water. This is the first time that I've been hugely pregnant during the summer months and swimming was such a relief on my back and pretty much every other muscle that has been achey these days.

Here I am in all my glory. As of my OB appt. yesterday, I've gained 27 pounds so far, which is keeping right in line with my other two pregnancies. When people ask when the baby is coming - now that it's June - I can say, "at the end of this month!" CRAZY!!!!
