A taste of spring

There is something special about that first warm, sunny day after a long winter.  Saturday was that day for us.  It was hard to believe that, just 24 hours earlier, the ground was covered in fresh snow.

We started in jackets, but before long they were thrown off.  "I'm too hot!" the kids yelled as they unzipped their coats.

Back in January, someone's trash became our treasure when we saw this climber on the side of the road.  It's pretty basic, two little slides and a platform and a bit dirty and faded from the sun.  But the kids love it!

A wise friend told me, "Boys are like dogs.  You need to run them!"

So true.

They've been fighting with each other a lot more lately and I think a lot of it just has to do with pent-up energy that needs to get spent.

I'm glad that we got to do that this day.

It was a breath of fresh air.

Literally.
