"Miss Jane"

"How many more days until Miss Jane comes?"

That was the ongoing question in our house in the week leading up to Jane's arrival.  The kids were counting down and the days and couldn't wait to see her.

It turned out that her visit coincided with our town's Christmas of Yesteryear.  The town square was all decorated for Christmas.

There was a live nativity, hot cocoa and treats, cookie decorating in the museum and a carriage ride around town that we ended up having to miss due to a long wait and kids who were getting cold and tired.

But we found Curtis a yellow car.

Saturday was our church's Turkey Supper.  I was in charge of the green beans.  We cooked up 48 gallons of green beans to serve to almost 900 people!  It was a busy, busy day.  Jane looked after the kids that night while Andy and I finished up at the church.  I'm not sure what we would have done without her that night!

Sunday was much more relaxing.  We took Jane to one of our favorite restaurants in downtown Columbus.

Before heading to the airport on Monday morning, we were able to squeeze in Curtis's preschool Thanksgiving feast.

Having Jane out here was such a joy for all of us.  My favorite times were just sitting around, drinking coffee, and talking.  She's part of our family and being together is always a blessing.  We're already looking forward to next time!
