Disney World: Part 2: Epcot and Caribbean Beach Resort

We got some excellent sleep that first night in Disney.

I had a small surprise for the kids when they woke up.  Their cousins' (Ava & Nora) Grandma Kelly bought them a Disney lanyard and pins for trading at the parks.  I bought a few extra and they took turns picking them out.

Then we put our magic bands on! These things were awesome! We scanned them to get into the parks, our resort room, for meals, for purchases, for fast pass reservations, for photos, etc. Loved them!  We were now ready for our Disney World vacation!

This was a welcome sight.  Our home for the next week!

And our destination for the day.

Bella was such a trooper with all of the walking that we did.  And not only did she not complain once, she often asked if she could push the stroller.

This photo is fuzzy, but I wanted to include it because this was our very first Disney World ride: Soarin'.  This was also our first use of a Fast Pass and it was incredible.  The wait time for this ride was 120 minutes.  We walked past soooo many people to the front of the line and maybe had to wait about 10 minutes.  And the ride was awesome and beautiful.  They lifted us up in front of a huge screen and it felt as though we were flying over California.  I may have even teared up a little bit.  Loved this ride and it's on the top of my list of Disney memories.

Livin' with the Land.  Interesting and educational ride.

Mission Space.  Another fun one.

We spent the afternoon in the World Showcase.  If we didn't have the kids with us, I could have spent so much time here.  I would have loved to walk through the shops and explore each country and taste more of the drinks/snacks.  But you can only do so much. . . especially with kids who weren't as interested in that stuff.

We probably spent the most time in the UK.

We met Alice in Wonderland there.  She was the very first character that we met.

She called the boys "Graydon-Dee" and "Curtis-Dum".

We were about to move on to the next country, but then Mary Poppins was making her way over.

So we waited a little to meet her too.

She was fantastic and reminded the boys to pick up their toys whenever they're done playing with them.

Paris!  We were there during Epcot's International Food & Wine Festival.  Lots of extra snacks and drinks in each country.

These photos were taken by Photo Pass photographers.  Since we purchased the Memory Maker package, I had us stop for photos at many of these locations.  I can never pass up a photo with all five of us!  They also took a lot of the character meet-and-gree photos. It was nice to put my camera away at times and just soak in the moments.

We went to a show called "The American Adventure" and left feeling a bit more patriotic.

After this, the kids were starting to wear out.  We made our way around the rest of the showcase and back to Shark World, an area that Curtis wanted to play in but was a bit too crowded when we were there earlier in the day.

We rented a stroller through a company outside of Disney.  This stroller was some of the best money we spent on this trip.  We no longer own one, but I knew there would be a lot of complaining if these guys had to walk the whole time.  This stroller practically pushed itself and provided the boys a lot of rest.  I got pretty attached to it during the week and was sad when we had to give it back.

On our way out, we went on Spaceship Earth and then got our photo taken in front of it.

My plan was for us to leave around 3pm since that's when we could check in to the resort.  We ended up staying until around 5pm.  Then it was off to the Caribbean Beach Resort.

Here is our room: #2223.

The bathroom was hidden behind those sliding doors.

This was our view.

Just beautiful.

I lost count of how many times they went down the slides.

When we checked in, the boys were given pirate swords and eye patches and Bella received a wand.  We all received "1st Visit" buttons.

It was probably about 9pm when we were dried off from the pool and finally venturing out to the resort's food court for some dinner.

Dinner and then sleep. The next day: Magic Kingdom!
