Disney World: Part 3: Magic Kingdom

I couldn't wait for us to spend the day at Magic Kingdom. When I'd think of Disney World, this is the place that would show up in my imagination.

We took various forms of transportation during our stay: our van, the shuttle, the monorail, the ferry, etc.  Here is Curtis in our van, seeing if he can touch his tongue to his eyeballs.

Before actually going into Magic Kingdom, we had breakfast reservations at the Polynesian Resort at 'Ohana. This was when we boarded the monorail.

Curtis finally got the Mickey waffles that he'd been looking forward to.

Lilo was the first character to approach us during this meal.

She was sweet.

Bye Lilo!

Then came Pluto!

And Mickey Mouse!

Finally Stitch!  The boys just love him and couldn't wait to meet him.

The food was wonderful and bountiful.

We jumped back onto the monorail and headed to Magic Kingdom: the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy.

Fall was in the air at Disney World!

We arrived just as a show was finishing up.

We first headed to Frontierland for our fast pass at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.  That was our first roller coaster and Graydon was pleased since he preferred fast rides.

Then we went over to Enchanted Tales with Belle.  While we waited in line, we explored Belle's home.  Here's a photo of her with her mom.

And we compared her age/height markings with our kids.  Belle was shorter than these three.

The kids participated in the telling of the story.  Bella was the "barking footstool" and Graydon was the "laughing gallery".  Curtis didn't want a part.

After that, we had a lunch reservation at Be Our Guest.  We ate in the West Wing (it's forbidden!)  When the lightning strikes, the prince's photo quickly changes to the beast.  It was kind of hard to get a good photograph of it.

The rose was also stored here.

We tried the gray stuff. It was delicious!  (Don't believe us?  Ask the dishes!)

Rapunzel's tower.  'Tangled' is my current favorite Disney movie.  I really liked this spot.

After the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, Curtis made a pirate purchase: pirate figurines and a spy scope.

Our final fast pass of the day was at Splash Mountain.  I wasn't exactly looking forward to this ride because I didn't want to get wet, but it actually ended up being one of my favorite rides and another top Disney experience for me!

We had a little time to dry off while we waited to meet Daisy.

And Minnie!  She was the one that Bella was most looking forward to meeting.  So we had to make that happen.

I didn't really want to go on the teacups.  I'm not at all a fan of spinning rides.  But I felt like a trip to the Magic Kingdom would be incomplete without it.
IMG_5109

The castle was beautiful from every angle.  I couldn't stop getting photos of it.

The Mickey's Not-So-Scary-Halloween party was that evening.  We didn't purchase extra tickets for it (would have cost us an extra $400), but it was fun to see all of the fun costumes people came in.  We stopped for another castle picture on our way out.

And Disney provided us with a little bit of Halloween magic.

We came back to the resort for more pool time.

All dried off, Curtis was ready to play with his new purchase.
IMG_5121

This wall bed was our fifth sleeping space.  The kids all took turns as it was the most popular bed in our room!

We all needed lots of good rest that night as the next day was to be our biggest, longest, busiest day yet: another day at Magic Kingdom!
