The boys had to get up bright and early for their yearly doctor check-up. Before the doctor came in, the nurse was asking questions about helmet wearing, seatbelt wearing, diet, etc. She said, "one or fewer drinks of juice/soda per day." "One or few times eating fast food per week." The kids had to answer "yes" or "no" to these questions. We had just come off of a lot of travel and healthy eating wasn't necessarily a focus while on the road, so the boys were honest about their soda drinking and fast food consumption. I told her our answers would have been different if she asked them any other time. And then I proceeded to treat them to McDonalds breakfast after we finished up our appointment.
We've been taking more evening swims this summer. The water is warm after sitting in the hot afternoon sun. I've even been getting in a lot more this summer. One evening, I went with Bella. I was in my clothes and brought a book, but decided to put my feet in. It was like bath water. I ended up getting in the water with my clothes! The only tricky thing is that the air is a little cooler in the evening, so getting out can feel kind of cold. That's why the boys decided to cover themselves in their towels.After doing some shopping, Bella and I stopped for some tea. She got some boba and I just got a milk tea. I love the milk tea, but not a fan of boba.

Princess Mabel really needed to potty, but it was pouring rain. Tough decisions.
Andy, Curtis, and I went out to eat after going to see the movie, "Nope." It was just the three of us because Bella and Graydon were at camp that week.

There was an "Under the Sea" theme dinner one evening. All the campers brought dress-up items from home. What were the chances that someone else would have the exact same crab hat as Bella?! Graydon also had an identical captain hat to another camper. And the really crazy thing is that this other girl and boy are also brother and sister!
The older campers returned home on a Saturday and the following Monday, our younger campers took off for their camp! This will be Curtis's last year in the younger camp. Next year, he'll join Bella and Graydon at Tar Hollow.
The only body of water this campground has is a pool. They received a lot of rain that week at camp and it looks like an area of the property flooded!
Andy was the camp director and program leader. Very busy week for him!
Meanwhile, I was at home with Bella and Graydon. One evening, we played a new game that Bella got at camp. It's similar to Headbands. We asked each other "yes" or "no" questions to try and guess the name on our card. Whenever an answer to our question was "no", we had to draw a letter card. The letters you could get were: L,O, S, E, or R. The person to spell "loser" first was the loser. Or you could win by guessing your name. We had a fun time playing the game together.

I had a couple plants that needed a hair cut. I learned how to make new plants from plant cuttings and decided to give it a try.

I came to bed one night to find this. Definitely no room for me!
Graydon wanted some piano lessons, so I gave him one. With his previous music knowledge, we were able to work our way through almost an entire beginner book in one setting.
Bella and I went shoe shopping and we came across this ice cream truck. Too bad they were closed!
I went to get Curtis for dinner one evening and, while talking to him, I noticed that my ring felt a little sharp. I looked down at it to find that my diamond was missing! Immediate panic set in. I ran to the kitchen to tell Andy and soon all of us were looking for it. I was pretty sure that it had to have fallen out recently because I look at my ring often I didn't notice anything until that point. If I had lost the whole ring, that would have been one things, but looking for a tiny diamond is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I started looking around the kitchen, outside in the grass, in the couch cushions, in the carpet. I started emptying out kitchen shelves. Andy told me to take a break and eat my dinner, but I lost my appetite, so I kept searching. After Andy finished eating, he was going to take apart the kitchen drain in case it fell down there while I was making dinner. I moved on to the refrigerator and starting shuffling things around and taking items out. I got to the bottom shelf near where I removed a half of a watermelon and saw it. There it was! I couldn't believe I found it. Even while I was searching, I thought to myself 'What are my odds of finding this?' - and I determined that my odds were quite low. I am so thankful that this went missing at home. If it happened to fall out when I was anywhere else, I don't think I would have gotten it back. Thank you, Lord! What was lost has been found!
Mabel likes to make a little nest for herself with our pillows. It drives Andy crazy, but I think it's so cute!
It was Open House at school the other night for all the seventh graders. They got their schedules and locker combinations so they could practice opening their lockers and finding their classes. It took Curtis a few attempts to open his locker, but he figured it out and now he is ready and excited for school to start!
I spent a few days at school this past week getting some things ready for the upcoming school year. We start in just a few days now.
As always, we've had an amazing summer! I'm so thankful for all the memories we made together.
