Our journey out west began on Friday morning, June 30th. Before too long, two of the kids looked like this. . .

Curtis on the otherhand. . .

Our first goal was Fairmont, MN, where we met up with Papa, Gaga, and Tom. After a night's rest, we were back on the road in the morning.

Our van got pretty messy from all of the bugs and dirt. The kids were happy to do a little cleaning during one of our stops!

While driving through South Dakota, we stopped at the tourist destination known as Wall-Drug. There must have been two hundred signs for this place along our drive! The kids each got a photo on the Jackelope.

A serious game of poker.

Cooling off in the splash pad.

That evening, we arrived at our second stop: Mt. Rushmore!

The boys often referred to this place as "The Four Heads."

We stayed for the evening program.

They honored all of the veterans in attendance.

My father-in-law went up. Her served in the army many years ago.

The "four heads" at night.

We've come to the end of Wyoming: Part 1 and I haven't even gotten any Wyoming photos up yet!
Stay tuned for Wyoming: Part 2!
