Hauser Prom

I helped out with Hauser After-Prom. Throughout the evening, we have raffle prizes for the kids in attendance and, for one week, our dining room looked like this.

Here are all the kids who were voted to Prom Court!

Prom was held on April 27th. Bella and Sam sure looked cute together!

After taking a few photos at our house, they met up with friends at a Columbus park for some more.

Lots of pink this year! This wasn't even planned.

They parked across the field from where photos were taken and, with her train and shoes, walking was a little more tricky; so Sam carried her across most of the field.

Dinner at Taku!

Arriving in style to prom.

Captured their faces when their friends showed up to prom in a cattle trailer.

Their besties, Evan and Grace, were crowned Prom King and Queen!

After Prom started at midnight and went until 2am. Since I was on the committee, I stayed to help clean up and didn't get home until after 4am! I think it took me a whole week to recover.

Honors for Bella

At the end of April, Bella received some big recognitions. The first was on Wednesday, April 24th when she and three other high school seniors received a scholarship from the Bartholomew County Republican Ladies League. Of the four students receiving scholarships, three were from Hauser!

The very next day, she was honored by the Indiana Association of School Principals as a Regional Academic All-Star. Each high school in the state of Indiana nominates one high school senior. Schools are directed to select nominees based on criteria such as number of advanced classes taken (AP, IB, ACP, and/or dual credit), Standardized Test Scores, Extracurricular activities, both academic and non-academic, Leadership and Community Service and Involvement. From all those nominations, students are chosen to be recognized at this lunch. This was a HUGE honor to be chosen from seniors across the whole state. The lunch took place at the Indiana Roof Ballroom and it was a really neat experience to be a part of.

Here is Bella with her principal, Kris Fortune.

Her school counselor, Kelli Hoeflinger.

She got to choose a favorite teacher to honor and she chose Stephanie Tom.

Her fan club! The fact that each of these individuals traveled to this event to support her was very special.

And I got to be there too! Andy would have been in attendance, but he was up in Wisconsin for church synod meetings and had to miss.

Not the best picture, but here she is receiving her award.

A slideshow with all the All-Stars scrolled throughout the event.

Super cool venue.

She has worked so hard for so many years and it was fun to see all of it pay off this spring!

AAU Basketball

This might be the most behind I've gotten on updating the blog. The last month of so may have been the busiest season of life we've ever experienced so far. Bella played tennis, Graydon did high school track, Curtis did junior high track and also participated in travel basketball for the first time. His practices were up in Greenwood (about a 40 minute drive north) and his games were over an hour away, often late on Sunday nights. We are finally coming up for air now that sports and school are behind us, so it's time for an update!

Here are some photos from Curtis's travel ball. I probably took more video than photos of his games, but it's something.

This was a great opportunity for him to get some extra experience in the school's off-season.
