Two months old today!

Isabella is two months old now! Time sure flies! We had another doctor appointment today. Here are Isabella's new stats: weight - 10 lbs. 8 oz./50th percentile, length - 23 in./75 percentile, head - 15.25 in./50th percentile. She is right on track in growth and everything looks good. Unfortunately for her, she had to get four shots today. I held her as the nurse poked her. I couldn't watch the needles going into Isabella's skin. Instead, I watched her face and it broke my heart to see her eyes fill with tears and to hear her cry. We gave her some tylenol and she seemed to calm down pretty easily. Shortly after, she fell asleep.

Last Monday night, Isabella slept through the night for the first time. We generally put her to bed around 8pm every night. Monday night, we did our normal bed time routine: change into pajamas, eat, sing/read story/rock, bed. After singing a few songs, her eyes were still wide open. But, I laid her in bed anyway. She probably laid in bed for about an hour before finally drifting off. She wasn't upset and didn't cry, she just laid there. I went to sleep a while later. Normally, Isabella would wake up around 3:30am to eat. I ended up waking up at 4am and she was still sleeping. Finally at 6:00am, she woke up to eat. Since that night, I haven't been feeding her during the night. If she wakes up, I am able to give her a pacifier and she falls right back to sleep. Mommy is definitely getting much more rest now.

How do you capture a smile?

Isabella has been smiling much more lately, which has made playing with her even more fun. I'd love for everyone to see her beautiful smile, but I have tried and tried and am having a really difficult time getting a picture of it. Below, you will be able to see a few of my attempts. I am determined to get a good smile picture one of these days.

The weather here has been gorgeous - very unseasonably warm. It even hit the 60s this past weekend. So, we took advantage of the nice weather and went for a walk. It seriously felt like spring time, we couldn't believe it was January! The walk was pretty bumpy for Isabella since most of the sidewalks near us are made out of brick, but she really enjoyed it and it was nice for her to get some fresh air.

Isabella seems to have gotten herself on to a schedule. She goes to bed around 8pm and gets up for one feeding usually around 2:30am. Then, she sleeps again until 6:30am (today it was 7:30am). During the day, she eats about every two and a half hours. It used to be every three, but since she has dropped some of the night feedings, she gets more hungry during the day. After she eats, she will play for a while and eventually get tired and take a nap. When whe wakes up, it is generally time to eat and the cycle begins again. This has been working really well for us.
