The great thing about summer break is all the free time. The challenge is what to do with all that free time. One project we decided to tackle was the front porch. We didn’t take any before photos, but it was in desperate need of a pressure wash and weeding. We decided to add a new rug and some string lights to cozy it up a bit more as well.
It’s now my new favorite space in the house and I’ve already spent hours here. Currently, I am even updating this blog from here!
Mabel enjoys the lazy summer days too.
One more banquet to attend. This was the Mid-Hoosier Conference All-Conference banquet. Top athletes in spring sports from the six schools in our conference were honored at this banquet, and Bella was one of them for tennis!
We’ve made it out to the pool two times so far. The water is still a bit cold. Curtis has been the bravest about just jumping right in.
Bella has some summer basketball practices and games to help with her conditioning for the upcoming school year. We got to watch her play the other night. I’m not the greatest sports photographer. Any photos I share on here are typically taken by other parents and shared with me! But I’m wanting to do better as we approach Bella’s senior year.
Graydon wants to continue to improve his high-jump, but all the equipment at school has been put away in storage. So, he bought some PVC and he and Andy built a makeshift apparatus for our backyard. Photos of the finished produce are on Andy’s phone. Now we just need a couple old mattresses and some tarp to create the landing pad.
Bella went on a fun outing with several other FFA students who all earned the most points in FFA event participation. They went to Top Golf, a state park, Dave & Buster’s, and The Melting Pot. Looks like they all had a great time!
We’ve hit a few cooler summer days, so we made our end-of-the-year fire where the kids burn their school papers.
