Pumpkin Farms

First trip to the Pumpkin Farm this week:  Wednesday.  This was another field trip with Bella's class.  Just the girls again.  Daddy stayed home (it was his day off) with Graydon and Curtis.

Our second trip (to a different farm):Today. This time the whole family went. It was our annual Sunday School trip to the farm. Another BEAUTIFUL fall day!

Two boys and their pumpkins.  Getting Graydon to look at me was a real challenge.  He was too busy throwing his pumpkin around like a ball.  (I am starting to notice a theme here).

Our family grew this week!  My brother and his wife welcomed a sweet baby girl into this world on Thursday morning.  Here is Rose Lynn Benetti.  Isn't she precious!
I am happy to say that, as of about an hour ago, the internet on my computer is working!  Andy has been troubleshooting my problem for weeks now and he fixed it!  I have such a great husband.

Happenings. . .

There's been a lot going on with our little family over these past couple of weeks.

Graydon Happenings:
He had a doctor check-up at the beginning of the month.  Our little guy is growing up in height just fine - two inches in the past three months.  He is now 34 inches tall and in the 75th percentile!  His weight however, that's a different story.  He didn't even gain one pounds in these past three months and his percentile dropped from 25th to 10th.  He currently weighs 23 pounds 1 ounce.

Our doctor isn't too concerned at this point because he is growing in inches, which means he is still getting proper nutrition.  She just wants us to try pushing foods like cheese, peanut butter, avocado, etc. and we'll see how things are at his two-year check-up.

Part of me just wonders if he is already getting Daddy's high metabolism.  We'll see how things look in the next few months.

Another big event in Graydon's life is that he got his first haircut last Saturday.  Here he is before:
The summer's humidity gave Graydon adorable curls.  With the humidity gone, his hair just started to look messy.  I tried to push this off for as long as I could, but it was time.
Here he is after.  Sort of.  Andy did end up taking a little more off the top a few days later.  I haven't taken a picture of it yet. I'll admit - I was a little sad that the curls were gone.  But he does look so handsome.  (And like such a big boy).

Bella Happenings

I went with Bella on a class field trip to the Adventure Aquarium.

We saw all sorts of fish, sharks, sting ray, seals, penguins, etc.  It was nice to do an activity with just her (and her school friends).

Unfortunately, she had a bad dream about the jellyfish the other night.  The price you pay for a little education.  :)

Later in the week, she had a visit from her friend Katelyn who moved away last spring.  These two played for hours at the park and were very sad to have to say goodbye again.

Curtis Happenings

He continues to be one of the sweetest little babies that I know.

He had one of his best nights of sleep last week, going from 9pm - 6:30am.

He still is up usually once and sometimes twice, though.  And it often takes him a little while to actually fall asleep at night.

We'll get there.

Family Happenings

I feel like these days have been crazy busy lately. So I'm very thankful that we could steal away some family time to go apple picking.

Bella picked pretty much all of our apples.

Graydon found all the stray apples on the ground and tossed them around like baseballs.  Such a boy.

We really couldn't have asked for a more beautiful fall day.

Later on we made some mini caramel apples and apple pie.

Autumn leaves are falling down. . .

. . . and what could be more fun than creating a huge pile to jump in!
Bella sure thought it was great!
Graydon was completely content to explore (and taste) the crispy leaves.Piles of fun!
I love fall! Love, love, LOVE it!!!

Graydon
has been pulling up on all of the furniture. He is way too brave for his own good. There have been lots of bumps and bruises and falls. He's one tough little guy. Because of his new skill, we had to lower the crib to its lowest setting. He loves standing up in his crib. . . which really stinks when he's fighting his sleep. He's getting so big. We've had some beautiful days this week and our goal is to get the most out of them before the winter weather sets in and we're stuck inside for months. Happy Fall to everyone!

Lots of great photos!!!!

My camera got a good workout this week. I've been wanting to take Bella's 4-year-old portraits and Tuesday was a beautiful day to do it. I'm pretty much done with taking her to professional places for portraits. I always walk away a little bummed (except for her baby pics). We had our family photos taken last week for our church directory and they turned out just OK. Graydon is not smiling and Bella has a cheesy, fake smile. When it comes to our whole family, I'm kind of at the mercy of other photographers; but when I have the ability to take the pictures myself, I'm definitely starting to opt for that route. Here are Bella's photos from the other day. I'm very pleased! This one is my top fave and the one that's going in the frame. OK family - if you want any pics of Bella, let me know which one and which size. I'll be bringing them home at Christmas!

Andy was planting some mums in the front yard and I thought that they looked like a nice backdrop for some photos of Graydon. Unfortunately, he's at that "I-don't-sit-still-for-more-than-five-seconds" phase. This is the best one I got and he is clearly on the move here. So we enlisted the help of Bella to keep him still.
There are quite a few that look like this. Graydon has a thing with faces. . . Who needs a dog when you've got this little guy? Some cheerios spilled on the floor. I went to clean them up and by the time I returned, every last one was gone.
We went to the pumpkin farm with a group from church today. The weather was perfect!

Bella in search of the perfect pumpkin.
Graydon found a keeper!Graydon waves now. This started last week. Here he is waving at all the friends in the pumpkin patch.
Bella found another one!
We also enjoyed the hayride!9 months old
