Isabella growing up: 3-6 months

We've taken oodles of pictures during the past few days and I want to post some but the picture uploader is being goofy. So, I decided to just post Isabella's next slideshow of pictures. Some of the newer pictures are near the end of the show. I wasn't able to include all of them, but there are a few highlights. Once the uploader is working right, I'll try to add more pictures.

Busy! Busy! Busy!

In the past six days, we have been in four different cities in three different states. Last Thursday, we left Pennsylvania and headed to Indiana to attend a wedding and visit with people from the church that Andy interned at last summer. From there, we headed to Wisconsin to my parent's house for the night and are now enjoying a visit with Andy's family. Isabella is becoming a seasoned traveler! She also turned six months old today! At her doctor appt. last Wednesday, her weight was 15lbs. 8 oz. (45th percentile), her height was 27.25 in. (95th percentile), and her head circumference was 16.75 in (50th percentile). She also received another three shots. I think that we're all getting better at the whole shot thing. I can't upload any pictures this time because I still have to install the camera software onto the computer that I'll be using this summer. Hopefully, I will get to that sometime soon.

Colds, teething, and sleepless nights!

An icky cold has been making its way through our household. It began with Andy and has now latched onto me. As I type right now, I feel absolutely miserable. Thankfully, Isabella doesn't seem to be infected. By some miracle, we hope that she can escape this cold.

Isabella had a few rougher nights this week. She is generally a wonderful night sleeper, but there were a few nights when she woke up every couple of hours. I felt like I was dealing with a newborn again! I thought it might be a growth spurt and that she was waking up to eat, but she didn't seem too hungry. Then my mind shifted to her teeth. She has definitely begun the whole teething process, but no teeth seem to be poking through yet. I wonder when that first tooth will appear!? Andy got his first tooth when he was 4 1/2 months, but I didn't get any until I was 12 months (my mom wondered if I would ever get teeth)! So, it's anyone's guess as to when Isabella's first tooth will appear. Thankfully, she slept through the night again last night. I hope that we're back on track again. With this cold and getting up several times in the night, I'm beat!

Giggles from our girl!

We finally caught Isabella giggling on video. Usually, she stops and stares at the camera whenever we bring it out. I have to preface this video with a moment we had a few weeks ago. Andy, Isabella, and I were taking a walk. Andy and I were talking and he said the word 'yucky'. When he said that, Isabella started laughing. She often laughs when we say that word now. This video turned out a little dark, but it's still cute. Enjoy!

Our Week

Friday afternoon, we received a message on our answering machine from a stranger stating that she had found Andy's wallet. This was great news but also rather unexpected since Andy lost his wallet thirteen months ago! He placed the wallet on top of our car and drove off on a 10 mile trip. Somewhere along the way, the wallet fell off. If this wallet could talk, it would be interesting to hear the stories of where it's been during this past year.

We had a really nice Mother's Day celebration yesterday. I received a nice card, a back massage, dinner out, and a Starbucks frappuccino. I also took a nap in the middle of the day, which was really nice. The only problem was that, with a nap and a bunch of caffeine (from my coffee drink and the Mountain Dew at dinner), I was absolutely wired last night and couldn't get to sleep. I think I learned my lesson - no caffeine after 9pm if I've had a nap!

Isabella continues to grow and do new things. Her latest is this loud shriek. It is a happy sound but we have never heard something quite like this come out of our little girl's mouth before. She is getting so big!

She rolled over all by herself!

Isabella rolled over by herself on Saturday afternoon. This was a long time coming. She would get so close so many times but, after not getting anywhere, get frustrated and give up. Here's how it happened. . . Isabella was playing on her tummy and decided that she was done with that. Often, she would lean her body over as if she was going to roll over, but then go upright again. She did this several times until one time she leaned over and then stayed on her side. Oblivious to the fact that her parents were practically holding their breath waiting for her next move, she stayed that way for what felt like a half hour (was probably about a minute or two). Then, she did it! She maneuvered herself onto her back. From start to finish, it probably took five minutes, but she did it! Later that day, she did it again! I don't think that we have to run and childproof everything just yet, but she is headed in the right direction!

In other news, Andy is officially done with all of his finals(insert angels singing the Hallelujah chorus)! We are so happy to have things settle down a little bit. Just a few more weeks until we head back to Wisconsin!
