Our Last Sunday at Hope Moravian

Andy's last day as the pastor of Hope Moravian Church was Sunday, October 27th. This day arrived very fast and looking at these pictures still brings up lots of sad feelings. Stepping down as pastor was the right thing for Andy to do (no big scandal as, unfortunately, can be very common when a pastor leaves the ministry - he was just feeling burnt out and needed a rest). Even though this was right for him, I still felt very sad about leaving a church family I enjoyed being part of and all the love and support we've had. I started crying during the first worship song of the service and continued for just about the rest of it. One part that got me extra emotional was the children's message. Grown kids who were small when we first came here ten years ago came up for the message. The front of the church was packed with kids of all ages and that felt really special.

Andy's parents and his sister were here with us that weekend. Thanks to Laura, we have so many pictures from this day.

There was a reception in the gym after the service.

It was the most beautiful fall day.

October 27th was also Andy's dad's birthday, so we went out for a special dinner that evening.

That was a good day, but a very hard day.
