A visit from Grandpa Mike and Auntie Lori

My dad and youngest sister came out here to meet the newest addition to our family. They were so great with Isabella and wanted to spend as much time with her as possible. During this visit, Isabella gave us her first conscious smiles. She seems to become more and more interactive each day, which has been a lot of fun for us. My mom also flew in on December 30th. She will be here for the next two weeks. On New Years Eve, my parents and sister watched Isabella, giving Andy and me a chance to have a date night. We really enjoyed getting out, just the two of us, knowing that Isabella was in great hands. After our date, we came back to our apartment and hung out with everyone until 2006! This was the first New Years Eve, since I was a little kid, that I had a hard time making it until midnight. I was pretty tired. But, we had a great time. And, when midnight came around, we watched a fireworks display from our balcony. It was a little chilly, but the show was great.

One month old already!

We can't believe that our little peanut is already one month old! She has grown so much in this short month. On December 29th, we took her for her one month doctor appointment. She now weighs 8 pounds 4 ounces, is 22 inches long, and her head circumference is 14.5 inches. Her weight is now in the 48 percentile, her length is 90th percentile, and her head circumference is the 47th percentile. We think they were a little generous on her length, but everything is looking great! Isabella also saw her first movie in the theaters this past week. We wanted to see King Kong, so we took her with us to a matinee. We sat in the back, close to an exit, in case we'd have to make a mad dash out with her, but she pretty much slept throughout the entire three hour movie. When she was awake, she was quiet except for the occasional squeaks that she often makes. We were very pleased with how well she did.

First bath in her infant tub. This was the first bath that she didn't scream through the entire time. She still needed her pacifier for comfort, but we're definitely making progress!  Posted by Picasa

Bath time is over! We should have put a diaper on Isabella right away because she ended up pooping all over her froggie towel! Posted by Picasa
