Kilps Visit: Part 2

Our time together was a good blend of getting out-and-about and laying low. After Bella's dance class one Friday morning, we ventured out to Main Street for some Philly pretzels and pizza.
The (five) of usUncle Tom with Graydon - so sweet. Grady-Boy found a dog to love on. From there, we headed for the park. Random photos from the week:

This was pretty much a nightly ritual. The only thing missing in this photo was a bowl of popcorn.Lunch on the porch Trips for water ice. Grandma & Grandpa took the kids out twice! This was definitely a highlight for Bella (and I assume Graydon as well).
Graydon had a doctor check-up and had to get three shots. This was the first time that he received them in his arms. Poor baby. He was quite the trooper though. I believe he stopped crying before we even walked out of the exam room. His new stats are:
Height: 32 inches (75th percentile)
Weight: 22.5 inches (25th percentile)
Head Circumference: 18 7/8 inches (50th percentile)
He's a steady boy. I believe these exact percentiles have stuck with him for quite some time now. The doctor seems very pleased with how he's doing. . . and so am I. One large portion of our visit that I failed to get any photo proof of were the competitive games of Wii sports that were going on here. Bowling was by far the most played game. And I must say, the skill level of Andy's parents greatly increased over their week here.

Maybe there will be a Wii in their future?

Family Visit: Part 1

Andy's parents arrived on Tuesday evening. While Tom was still in town, a visit to Washington DC was in order. Here are just a few pics from their trip on Thursday.
I stayed back with this kids. I'd already seen the sites they planned to visit and knew that the trip would go much more smoothly minus two little ones. While they walked the sites of DC, the kids and I enjoyed some Dunkin Donuts, rode some bikes, and spent hours playing in the yard.

It was another perfect sprinkler day. I think it's safe to say that Graydon it completely satisfied to avoid the sprinkler. At least for now. He was less than thrilled with getting wet during this particular moment.Bella put together some "soup".Some water, a few wood chips, lots of grass, plus a few weeds. . . and we had ourselves quite the soup. The DC crew didn't get back until after midnight. I definitely think I made the right choice to stay home with the kids. :)

33 weeks

Less than six weeks from our c-section date. I don't think reality has really sunk in that this baby is coming so soon. Preparations have officially begun, however. I cleaned out some drawers and the closet in Graydon's room (he and baby will be sharing for a while) and another crib has been added (we're not ready to put Graydon in a big boy bed). With this being our third time around, there isn't really much to do. . . which is nice.

I am starting to feel very pregnant. . . and clumsy. I am dropping things, bumping into things,
forgetting things, etc. Physically, my lower back is feeling the pressure and I'm tired a lot. But, I really don't want to complain too much. This pregnancy, like my others, has been great and I think I'm feeling as good as can be expected. Pumpkin is moving around all the time and all over the place and I treasure every little moment. It is absolutely my favorite part of pregnancy and I'm going to miss it.

I added a little poll. What do you think. . . boy or girl? Here's all the info I can give you:

- heartrate has been in the 140s & 150s
- baby is just as active as Graydon was
- I've had two baby dreams, both times the baby was a girl

If I was forced to guess, I think my lean is towards a girl. Keep in mind, though, that I've been wrong with both Bella and Graydon. I thought that Bella was a boy and up until the last month of my pregnancy with Graydon, I thought that he was a girl. I know some moms get that strong intuition, but I don't seem to be one of them.

Go ahead and vote! I'm curious to see what the different guesses are.

Uncle Tom is here!

He arrived yesterday morning and the kids couldn't be happier.Bella has already made him watch her Barbie movie. I think her exact words were, "He will love it because it's so beautiful!"

Tom has been a great sport about it all.Graydon can't contain his excitement. And with an extra person in the house we got a rare picture taken with all four of us.We're all looking forward to a fun week together.

Happy Mother's Day!

I woke up that morning happy and rested.

Sunday mornings are usually a scramble. Andy's off to the church preparing for the morning's service while I get myself, the kids, and the house (we host the adult Sunday school class) ready. Some Sundays can definitely be chaotic - I'm trying to brush my teeth while Graydon is whining to be held and Bella is having a little fit because she wants to wear the same dress that she wore the week prior.

This morning, however, was different. It's as if they knew it was my day and wanted to make it easy on me. I was up well before the two of them and had a chance to get ready in peace. Bella woke up just as I finished. She got ready and just as I finished doing her hair, Graydon woke up. Such a nice flow to the morning.

That peace carried throughout the day. We all relaxed after church while Graydon napped. Bella drew pictures for me. I opened a few presents. We went out for dinner and then ice cream.

It was a nice day with the family - the perfect Mother's Day gift.

Take me out to the ballgame. . .

Daddy's ballgame, that is.Tuesday night was the first game of the season and we all came to watch. I use "watch" loosely as my main watching was on this little guy, trying to keep him OFF the field. I did manage to see Andy catch a few balls though. The guys lost the game, but they did have one of the cutest fans.

The Pinata

It had to be from Dora. That's our guess anyway.

But when we ask Bella where she got the idea to make a pinata, she says, "Nowhere. I just thought of it myself."

Maybe that's the case. . . but my money is still on Dora. The idea came to her on Friday evening. She wanted to make a star pinata and fill it with candy. While I was out with a friend on Saturday afternoon, Bella and Daddy got to work on it. Anything craft related around here is usually my territory, so I was very impressed that Andy created this with her.It took several hits to knock this little star down. Graydon even made a few attempts.
Finally! The sweet reward.
